Pehle to…Happy Birthday India and a very Happy Independence Day to everyone…

What do I want to see when India is 63?
Well, I think we suffered a lot due to the recession in the US and many jobs were lost. (Though we are made to believe by the Politicians and the media that India was fairly insulated from the recession in the US).
Would like this dependence on US to change/decrease.

What would I like to see in India as it turns 63?

Well there are so many things I could think of. But foremost among them I guess would have to be eradication of ‘corruption’ in all spheres of our society. I know things like these don’t happen in a day or maybe even in a year, but , we could start – you know, after all, it’s high time we did!!!!

The silver lining is encouraging. The signals are quiet encouraging. The one thing India can do immediately is to recognize its immense potential and leverage on it. Be it the English speaking educated manpower, or the immense sea wind availability or the immense middle class market. Indians can think large scale and design products in that way i.e. Tata nano, Electronic Voting Machine etc. They go outside and design great products like ATM machines, pentium processor architecture, coffee vending machines etc. Why does Indian companies does not have a single world class product? Be it software firms (except Finacle of Infosys) or Pharma companies. Where is the India which was shining? I want my India back. I want that golden period again!
Can we move ahead in that direction in the next one year? We definitely can. A great start has been done with the National Identity card project. Power sector can definitely do with more green and renewable power. As they say in Vedas “Aasto ma sad gamaya, tamso ma jyotir gamaya, mityur ma amritam gamaya” (Sanskrit: God, guide us in moving from bad to good, guide us from darkness to light, take us from mortality to immortality)

    India @63?
    Not much to imagine..
Same greedy polititians, same unsure -unsecure-frightened aam janta.
Shatranj ki sare mohare same hain ,khelne wale bhi vahi. All I wanted to see what Atal Bihari Vaajpeyee has said satristically in his poetry:
“Chaurahe per lut reha cheer hai
Pyade se pit gaya Vajeer hai.”
Kuch vaisa ho to baat hai.

I wish Atalji had translated a few words of his into action when he was at the helm of affairs..[I dont mean to a swipe on this sacred day at anyone]..
Recently i have seen a few accidents, thefts and other sad scenes..
and its but evident that there is little value to “life” in india, leave alone a so called sactity that is supposedly attached to it..
I wish sum1 young, unafraid and a lil psycho reaches the top of legislation and changes the very desi mode in which country is being run..

Without sounding political, I have sincere hopes from Rahul..

As for what I would do – I would very much work towards changing this US dependance, Ankur talked about.

    Jai Hind..
